frequently asked questions

+ Do I need to make an appointment?

As appointments are in great demand, you do need to book in advance. First appointments last for one and a half hours and you'll have exclusive use of the boutique. If you’re unable to find a suitable time, please contact us and we'll work with your availability. Sunday and evening appointments are available on request.

+ Is there a charge for appointments?

There is a £15 fee for first appointments held on a week day. First appointments on a Saturday are £20. Evening and Sunday appointments are available on request and incur a £30 fee. All further appointments are free of charge.

+ Are appointment fees refundable?

We kindly request 3 days notice to rearrange or cancel a Saturday appointment and 24 hours notice for a week day, evening or Sunday appointment. This is to ensure we have enough time to fill the opening.

+ Who can I bring to my appointment?

To ensure a comfortable and intimate appointment, we kindly ask that you bring a maximum of three guests.

+ What should I wear to my appointment?

We advise you to wear nude-coloured, seamless underwear. Please avoid tanning products prior to your appointment and opt for minimal make-up as both will help to keep our dresses clean.

+ What sizes are your sample wedding dresses?

Our sample wedding dresses are mostly sizes 10-14. If a sample is too large it will be pinned. If it's too small, we'll discreetly adjust the back to show you how your actual dress will look. All our designers make wedding dresses in a wide range of sizes.

+ What price are your wedding dresses?

Our 'Designers' page shows a price guide for each of our individual designers. All dresses are made to order unless they are included in our sample sale.

+ Do you sell off-the-peg wedding dresses?

We have a selection of sample wedding dresses (at greatly reduced prices) which can be taken home with you on the day. We will also give you the details of our seamstress who can alter your dress at her studio.

+ What happens if I find 'the' dress?

We take your measurements which are then sent to the designer. Your wedding dress will be made to the nearest dress size and delivered to the boutique, ready for alterations, approximately 12-16 weeks before your wedding. We will contact you when your wedding dress arrives to arrange a styling appointment.

+ How do I pay for my wedding dress?

Once you’ve chosen your dress, a 50% non-refundable deposit is charged. The balance is payable once your wedding dress arrives (at your styling appointment), before alterations commence.

+ Is there a charge for alterations?

Our wedding dresses are made to the nearest dress size and therefore will require alterations. We will be able to advise you on the scale of alteration costs. Payment is made directly to our seamstress.

+ What is a wedding dress sample sale?

A sample sale is usually held twice a year.  Sample wedding dresses are sold at greatly reduced prices in order to make space for a new collection. Appointments last for one hour and we kindly request a maximum of two guests. Sample wedding dresses must be paid for in full on the day of purchase.

+ What is a bridal trunk show?

A trunk show is when a designer loans the boutique a selection of wedding dresses from their new collection, for a limited period of time. Most bridal trunk shows are held over a weekend. Some designers are able to loan their entire new collection making it an ideal time for brides to try on dresses which aren’t part of our own selection.
